  • Add the flour, protein powder, sugar, and milk to a microwave-safe mug or ramekin. Stir until smooth.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Top with extra chocolate chips.
  • Microwave for 1 minute to 1 minute 30 seconds, depending on your microwave strength. The centre should still look slightly soft for the best texture.
  • Allow to cool for 1 minute before serving.

TIPS & NOTES:
  • Microwave times will vary depending on your microwave, so start with 1 minute and add extra time if needed.
  • For the best gooey texture, slightly undercook the mug cake.
  • If your batter feels too thick, add a splash of extra milk.
  • Replace the protein powder with extra flour for a non-protein version.
  • Use plain flour plus 1/4 tsp baking powder if you don’t have self-raising flour.
  • Best enjoyed warm straight from the mug.
 
MEASUREMENTS:
I always recommend using a kitchen weighing scale and using weighted measurements. This will result in a more accurate process and your mug cake will come out perfectly.
