Equipment

Ingredients

  • 2 x 185 g cans tuna drained well (in spring water or sunflower oil) - 2 x 6.5oz can
  • 150 g Greek yogurt - ⅔ cup
  • 40 g pickles/gherkins finely chopped - ¼ cup
  • 15 g fresh parsley finely chopped - 1 tbsp
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt or to taste
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper or to taste

Instructions

  • Add the Greek yogurt, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt and black pepper to a mixing bowl. Stir until smooth and well combined.
  • Add the drained tuna, finely chopped pickles and fresh parsley to the bowl.
  • Gently mix everything together until the tuna is evenly coated and the pickles and parsley are distributed throughout. Avoid overmixing so the tuna retains some texture.
  • Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed. Add a little more lemon juice for extra brightness or additional salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to eat.

Notes

NOTES:
  • Drain the tuna well: Excess liquid can make the tuna salad watery, so drain the tuna thoroughly before mixing.
  • Pickles make a difference: Finely chopped pickles add a salty, tangy crunch that helps give this mayo-free tuna salad plenty of flavor.
  • Greek yogurt: Use a thick Greek yogurt for the creamiest texture and to keep the tuna salad from becoming too runny.
  • Fresh herbs: Fresh parsley adds brightness. You can also use fresh dill if you prefer the flavor.
  • Serving: The tuna salad is particularly good served on toasted bread with avocado.

MEASUREMENTS:
I always recommend using a kitchen weighing scale and using weighted measurements. This will result in a more accurate process and your tuna salad will come out perfectly.
